I set 107 Cot eggs last night! A genesis full..............I broke the bracket on one quail rack, so had to leave in one chicken rack, hence the 107 instead of 120, I had enough eggs,

Deb, you've got a bad case of bird math!!! I love it!!!

LOL...the hard part is to not incubate all the rare eggs. I'm slowly getting over it. I'm getting about 50 cream Legbar eggs a week. That is just that coop. Chicken math is out of control.

I really need to cool it!

I'm the same way...............I see a CL, an Isbar, a Tolbunt polish, an Olandsk Dwarf, etc., etc. etc.........................and it HAS to go in.

Maybe I need to start running all the rare breeds together, then I won't be tempted to hatch their eggs (although I did set a couple of Tolbunt/Cochin cross eggs just to see what they would look like, LOL)

I will be a new chicken mama this weekend. The finishing touches are happening on the coop and run as I type, and we should be able to pick out our pullets this weekend. We are in Santa Rosa, CA. I love having the great resource....and to have such an active "local" thread!

We head to my mom and dads in Yuba City a couple of times a month. If anyone needs eggs, chicks etc run from Sonoma County to Sacramento area....or vice versa . We will be going that way next Tuesday and coming back Wed or Thurs.

I already have a lot of my rare breeds running together for that reason.
I still have in breeding coop..
CL
ISBAR
SWEDISH FLOWER
NORWEIGEN
GOLDEN CUCKOO
BARBANTER
JUBILEES, BLUE AND SPLASH ORPS

BRESSE " although the Rooster is eating those eggs for me" He might be dinner" then I will collect her eggs and start over. I'm not sure how to break him of it.
I let him out during the day and put him back at night. He try's to mate ME! I'm not to happy about that. ;(
PLUS a few projects..
I need to swap out one of my breeding coops and start working with the Marans.
