One of the reasons I asked for pictures was to see if you had pullets or cockerels. I have read about surprise cockeres with marans. Even a surprise pullet. Your two do look like pretty boys. Like your ducks, you will know at 6 weeks. You will see an obvious difference in their combs and the boys should start getting red on their necks and wings.
The good news is that their meat is supposed to be some of the best. It will take a while for them to be ready-around 20 or more weeks.
