California - Northern

my local post office closes at 4:30, so too late for that.

edit: tried a petaluma branch that stays open til 6 -- and they were able to tell me that it was missent to somewhere up north on the coast -- is making its way back, but will come back to their local processing facility, and won't be delivered til tomorrow.

i'm hoping the poor eggs can hang in there for one more day!
I'm sorry.

I would call your PO in the morning so you can pick them up. I hate stuff like that!!

I have poofy bearded and non bearded but I don't separate them. ( frankly I cant always tell the difference what type of owner am i???) But I have a lot of silkies that can see nothing, if that's what you mean by poofy.
I think the technical term is large crests.

I do not go for HUGE beards because then they REALLY can not see, and trimming beards is a hassle. Having them try and make sweet sweet love to stumps and buckets is one thing. Having them not be able to find the feeder is another.
LOLOLOL I sometimes feel like I am making sweet love to a stump.... OH WAIT! Wrong forum!

I LOVE the Poof, and I would "fix it" so they can see! Kind of a punk rock look!
I hatched out 7 SPPR a few days ago and have a few more on lockdown for this weekend. Just sayin..............LOL

Like this?

Or this?

LOL
THAT WHITE ONE! THAT's EXACTLY the one! Who doesn't need a cotton ball in their yard? That top one looks suspiciously like a rooster though..... Are the Silkies just as loud as large fowl roosters?

Yay! I have two go to ladies for poofy chickens!

I came home and found the hatcher off! Two pipped egg too. An inline fuse was blown so there may have been a power surge.

I will check in a bit to see if the chicks are a alive.

Very sad....

I have these two. They aren't as poofy though.... One has a beard, and one doesn't. The grey one has been broody for 6 weeks!! That can't be normal...

Yup, the partridge is a cockerel and the white is a pullet. No, they aren't nearly as loud and for the most part, all my boys get along with each other. Although in the run next to them are my serama and they sound like little pipsqueaks.

Sorry Ron, hope your hatch survives!

I've got a turkey poult on it's way out right now. It's trying to make an early appearance for Saturday's hatch.
