California - Northern

Quick question. I ordered 7 RIRs to fill my order with McMurray. They're all the same brown color, except one that is more of a yellow-ish light brown. It's feathers that it has on its wings are also lighter colored than her sisters. But she still has the same markings(that stripe down the back) that all the other RIR's have.

Is this normal?

Okay, I just took all the baby waterfowl for a bath and a graze on the lawn. I need to sort through the 100+ photos I took, but in the meantime, here is some ducky cuteness for you. One of the call ducks I just hatched out :love
Oh my gosh, pleeaassee post more pictures! How cute!!

I would say that is normal for hatchery birds. I'm sure they have a variety in their flock instead of the uniform deep red the SOP calls for.

Awwww

So many cute chicks! Guess I better add some of my own cuteness . . . These are Belgian d'Anver chicks that hatched on Friday. From left to right~ Dun Cuckoo, Dun Cuckoo, Dun Quail, Dun Quail, buff Columbian. I also hatched 8 W/BW Ameraucana chicks from my own birds but haven't taken pictures of them yet.

Um.. You may have "red sex links" in which case the lighter one is a boy. Did you order straight run?

Time for the geese.

The whole gang.

African gander

Chinese gander

Chinese stretching after his bath

George (American) knows he is my favorite

He has a hole in his head, you can see in one nostril and right out the other side if you look carefully, LOL

I have lots of pictures of him chewing on the camera strap.

Who's behind me???

Ohhh, Ron, they are simply gorgeous! I think I watched this video over a dozen times. I feel so fortunate to be able to have quality HRIR like your babies. May I ask your permission to post it on my FB?

Yes, go ahead and post it!

They are cute even when they look like dinosaurs....

I've never been a goose fan, spent to much time up the apple tree avoiding mean ones, but they are so sweet looking Debs-flock.

My legs/feet are in half the pictures. They snug up to me and lie down pressed against my legs. All I have to do is stand up and walk, everyone chases along behind me, Mother Goose, LOL
