Yes, you should get a mister. I have two that hook up to a garden hose and a timer. They are set to turn on at two and run for 3 hours. If they are still hot when I get home, then I run it longer. With the heat being so nasty up in the foothills this early my English Orpinton and brahma and a couple others have been panting on and off. How hot are they when they pant.. like heat stroke hot? I've been watering down the course sand in the run trying to keep they cool, but I'm not home most of the day so I worry about them while I'm at work. Should I invest in a mister? Elecrolytes in their water?
Give them electrolytes a couple times a week during the heat.
