People... South lake is the place to be in the summer! ;-)

Deb, I'd love to be on the coast! Heck I'd love to live in Tahoe! Can I have the beautiful boulders of South Lake on North Lake though on the Coast of Northern California? .... maybe if we get another earth quake near Grass Valley. LOL kidding. Although that would be my dream place of dwelling! Mountains next to the ocean. Snowy winters with summers in the 80's. Bam! Now who's got some pixie dust?

it's even hot at the coast this weekend, although not inland-hot -- but happy this morning, it's actually a few degrees cooler than the same time yesterday (about 72 outside), hoping that bodes well for today! getting as much of that cool into the house as possible before the numbers start to climb.

and why is it that the chickens are so eager to be let out of their run each day, but if all the pens are open, the FIRST place they want to check out is always someone else's pen? i'm having to stagger their free-ranging, just so the little ones don't go into the big girls' pen and a) get chased/pecked wildly, and/or b) eat their layer feed. and the big girls LOVE chowing down on the chick starter when given the opportunity, and keep drinking all their water.

i suppose the grass is always greener, even in chicken pens!

I have had the go into a different pen too!

The house is a bit warmer than yesterday so far.

Accuweather bumped the heat up for the fourth now--109.
