Ron said " fatty lover" lmao... I can't stop laughing. I must be delirious from the heat.

I know what you meant and its not funny but... Really.... I needed a laugh today!

Thank you!!!

OOPS...I fixed it but that was funny!

As long as your fatty lover doesn't turn into a rooster! LOL Ron, you're a wealth of knowledge and a constant source of entertainment!

I'm not going there lol! The shell is white on the inside BOO!!!
The perfect blue egg layer will have 2 blue egg shell Genes. When they are crossed, one blue Gene often is replace with the white shell Gene from the other Parent. The problem is that you cannot tell if an AM has both blue Genes even with a pea comb.

One Story goes like this: While judging an AM Hen, which was a very nice one with a pea comb and Show Quality, the Hen laid a brown egg! She was Disqualified on the spot.

Your girl did not pick up a blue gene for egg shell so she has two white shell genes. The egg is a nice dark color? That is always a win for me.

That's a good story Ron. The egg is brown but not dark brown. Maybe she will lay another egg today and I will get a pic this time.

Maybe it will get darker. Those first eggs can be wonky colored until everything gets working. The first egg that my dark egg OE laid was a medium brown. Then the next few had some dark on them. It was a progression until her "spray equipment" was working correctly and covering the whole egg. I thought that I had a pic of her first eggs but I can't find it. The same thing happened with her sister, the OE who actually lays olive/khaki eggs. Here is a pic of her first 3 eggs.

DH was watching the news and told me that the forecast for us today is 102! What happened to 90??? I lost my first bird to the heat yesterday. I feel so bad and I'm dreading another day of 100+ temps.
