It does look like a marans egg, although not super dark for a BC. Does the breeder have other varieties? It is possible to get the occasional clean legged bird, although not desirable here in the US.

These eggs are from French BCM's so I believe they should have feathered legs. I believe the breeder has other breeds of chickens, but only these Marans. Half were pullet eggs, and half were large eggs. This little one came from one of the pullet eggs. I don't mind a little variety. I have a pip on one of the other eggs. Day 21 isn't till tomorrow.

I wait until Greenfire breeds are sold by BYC members or on ebay.

Too expensive for my budget.

It was an auction they had up in rare breeds auctions. And It closed Monday afternoon and I haven't heard since!

I have heard that they have a tendency to just ship stuff. Did you already pay and give them your address?

I would check with the Post Office and make sure they had your number to call if the box was marked "hold for pickup" The Sherriff(Mary from up Nevada City way) had a box sitting at the PO for 5 days from Greenfire.
