I think i see your place while driving down E-16 .
if you look straight down Old Outingdale are you the place with the chickens walking around![]()

Yes, they will still molt with the light. They usually molt in the Fall.Of you use a light for egg laying in the winter/fall months will they still molt?
I usually buy mine at Walmart, also. But my Costco just changed the wild bird feed that they carry and it is a higher quality feed with lots of BOSS and some smaller seeds like millet, flax?, etc. The kind they had before had corn in it and I don't feed my chickens corn so I was happy that they switched. I sprout it for 2-3 days before giving it to them. In my mind, not only does soaking, rinsing, sprouting it make the protein etc. more usable for them but it also washes off any coating that the seed company might put on the seeds.Black Oil Sunflower Seeds. I get them from Walmart in a 25#bag. TSC(Tractor Supply Center) has them too. They are good for giving them fiber and oil for laying eggs. It also helps the Australorps to be nice and Shiny Blue.
My layer girls are molting. I'm just wondering if my new orps are starting a molt because still no dang eggs! LolYes, they will still molt with the light. They usually molt in the Fall.
Are you going to sprout them for you or your birds or both? Just curious! I am really getting into the whole sprouting thing!I'm looking for bulk mung beans for sprouting, anyone know of a source?
