Have you seen The Great Egg Shipping Experiment thread?  https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/738943/the-great-egg-shipping-experiment  Great advice on shipping.  Sorry they were broken  did they all go to the same buyer?

They went to 3 different people, So maybe it was my post office not sure. But I have been shipping eggs for over a year and have not had a broken one. I wrap them individually in bubble wrap and then pack snugly in newspaper

Yes, and it is really stressful for the hens too. One rooster to 5 hens is the recommended ratio.

How exciting that you got your first eggs!! And two at the same time! Congratulations! And of course you will be posting pictures!

Can't wait for Ellie to start laying so I can see what color she lays!

We are still having a hard time deciding which rooster to re-home. Maybe the one that bit me, the OE. Although for an Orpington rooster Brawny is the one pulling the OE rooster off of the pullets. Poor Emmet only has eyes for Ellie who wants nothing to do with any of them and doesn't even crow. Really don't want to get rid of the Orp as he's beautiful and huge, but the OE does seem to be protective of the flock and a good guardian. I'd hate to let the best rooster go but I don't know who that is.

Hi chicken people. So my parents are planning on building a pool, but the other day they through out the idea if we moved to a better house with a pool and sold this one, we could save over 20,000....I don't know yet if they're seriously considering moving, but obviously one of the first things I thought of was my chickies! They threw out the town name "Palo Cedro", it's a town near Redding...does anyone know the chicken laws for Palo Cedro? Where can I find them?

My chickens have done well this summer. We have misters on when needed and I water the ground of their run every day. I hope winter will be the same. So thankful.

Check out the thread. Look for the Skyline method for packing and do use double boxing. Double boxing and foam inserts--look for the type of foam that absorbs the shock--Chiqita said there are two types.

even if eggs break in foam insert packing the others seem to hatch better. Remember, the box needs to be able to handle a 10 foot drop.

Hmmm I'm pretty sure that it would be ok for chickens. It's outside redding and kinda on the outskirts

Palo Cedro is not a city. It is an un incorporated community. It would fall under Shasta County rules based on Zoning of the property. Check with the county after finding out the Zoning of the property.
