Oh tommysgirl I'm so sorry. I know curley was a special friend .
They are having a party at rainbow garden this week. I know there is extra watermelon for curley.

That is such a sweet image chiqita...thank you. I hadn't thought about the rainbow garden...but it's right there by the rainbow bridge isn't it?
Thank you RonHe did have a good life. Sorry for your loss.![]()
I really need to stop reading this thread at work. I don't know when I became such a sissy.Sorry about Curly....I learned a lot from your trials with him and I am sorry he didn't last longer for you. I still have the one Wheaten Ameraucana that has the curled toes. She gets around okay, but that foot seems to bother her some. She is about the same age as Curly.![]()
I am glad you learned from him Ali. Glad your girl gets around OK does she limp?
<*sniff*>
for Chiquita and tommysgirl![]()
Thanks Linda
Thank you. You are so right about it being harder. I hope he enjoyed his life I don't think he really knew he was different early on but I think he got lonely when they got older and his girls were all ranging and he was stuck in the coop or the tractor. My FIL who lives next door had a soft spot for him and gave him strawberry tops whenever they were available so that made a happy difference for him.I'm sure many of us where pulling for Curly, so sorry he didn't make it. My problem with special needs birds is that they get a special place in my heart and the loss of them is harder. He was very well cared for and I'm sure he appreciated all your efforts.
Thanks you guys I knew that you all would "get it."
I am bringing Beakface's foster boys to the woodshop teacher today. He is going to grow them out and maybe keep one as a breeder. Suddenly I have 5 fewer birds.
- You wanna come over and help???
I've heard a spoon works... It's the getting it out of the rooster that looks difficult. The people who do it have skills.... Poor Melvin.
