Hi everybody!

I was away from the computer for a couple of weeks. When I got back I had 1000+ posts on this thread to read. I was slowly working through a couple of pages at a time. This morning when I signed it, all my unread posts had disappeared so I'm just going to start from here.

Welcome back. Hope you had some fun.
I have two questions for you. Do you have golden penciled hamburgs? I was asked if I could find a replacement rooster since the their stealing eggs killed her boy.

Secondly, I'm thinking of hatching breeds for the poultry kids up here and I'm wondering when you would have eggs. Actually this question is open to all. I'm trying to get a list together so when I call I'll have a better idea about what's available close to us.

Candled last night and of the 8 Silver Penciled Wyandotte eggs 2 might be clear, 2 are looking more promising and 4 are clearly veining. 4 for 4 on activity in my own girls' eggs She is sitting on 2 Ozzie/Harriet eggs as well an Ozzie/California Grey Egg and an Ozzie/Chocolate Barred Rock egg. I am excited! Hope I get all girls which would be fair since last time I got all boys. That is the way it works right???

Anyway 10 of 12 seem to be doing something and 8 of those are clearly doing something so

I would love to get a few SPW girls, at least 1 for me and 1 for Alli, And I am going to grow out and process boys from this hatch. 2 more weeks. I figure I will candle again in about a week and pull the clears but leave everything else. I have heard too many stories of people giving up too soon. However it works out I am happy.

What are the 4Hers looking for? Do they only show cornishx for meat birds? Those things are so weird looking and it makes me sad that they don't/can't have truly normal chicken lives. I will have eggs from some lovely heritage dual purpose and hybrid/sex link dual purpose birds but I don't think there is a market for them in the show world.

So don't know if I can help at all. I will have New Hampshires and Delawares but Better New Hampshires and Better Delawares are available from other people on this thread. I do think it's a great idea though

I was wondering where you were. You were missed. I was just getting ready to ask if anyone had heard from you. I miss the regulars. It seems that Miss Molly used to be a regular too, but has gone missing from the thread. I guess life gets in the way sometimes.

I am going to get a pic of it but can you tell me what you call Petunia's comb? It started out looking like a pea comb and now is a single comb in the front with a little buttercup deal going on in the back. The gal I got the egg from said her dad was a Dorking and her mom was a Polish...Buff Laced.

Anyway It is cool looking and I hadn't seen one like it before.

I am so excited for you..... Still can't believe you ate some of your hatching eggs!!

I am still wanting a Red Star, but really I have so darn many for my space right now.

For an update:

My Polish seems to be perking up a bit. She ate some egg and drank a good amount of freshly mixed Corid water yesterday evening. I really think I need to trim her crest. I know I keep saying I am going to do it, but one handed with a spooky chicken and scissors near her head make it a less than desirable task.

I think the Corid water was a good choice all around. The move stressed them all out and I have noticed some of the others losing a little weight all except the giant English Orps. They don't seem to be any worse for wear, or if they are, I just can't tell.

I think I may do the Valbazen too all around once it gets here, and then really try to rebuild their systems with Vitamins and probiotics, etc.

Oh and that little blue baby is so cute! Congratz! I like hearing about hatching this time of year. Not such a frenzy of hatching going on and they seem to be smaller sets of eggs.

Chiqita, sorry about your hatch.....you have been having some bad Chicken JuJu lately. I hope it passes for you soon.
