Barnevelder's grow so slow!!!! I can't wait for mine to start laying, They are getting so pretty!

You and me both! My barnies hatched in march and I'm still waiting for an egg!

okay guys guess what!!! About 2 1/2 weeks ago i pulled some eggs out from under a hen to put in the incubator, and i thought they were do friday/saturday, I came home, and glanced in the incubator, and I have a beautiful baby!

Congrats!
I've got 6 peeping chicks inside eggs, but no external pips yet. C'mon babies! :cd

Quote: Me too! I'm tortured by hearing them "cry" inside the eggs with no pips!

Just was sorting through my inbox.  saw an email with the title "New Breakthroughs for Children with Autism."  Which I read as "New Breakthrough for Chicken with Autism."  I actually thought it said that for at least long enough to think "...and people think I am a loon."

What is wrong with me???

:hide  That happens to you too?
Oh, wow..... I am so often "mistaking" something to make it related to Chickens... Ran across a recipe (in an e-zine e-mail subject line so I didn't realize it WAS a recipe) "Battered Chicken" - and thought, how odd for a healthy lifestyle site to have an article about battery chickens, or mistreated chickens.

DOH!

! For the misinterpretations I catch myself making, usually the more sensational ones, I'm sure I've missed and mislead myself on plenty of others. Your story reminds me of DH and how he ended up being sent to sensitivity training. The HR gal at work came around collecting for charity drive. DH replied, "I already gave to The Tempura House". HR gal asked "What is that?" DH sealed his fate with "It's the home for lightly battered women!" Sigh.

Like I said to chickee, We didn't know how long they were sat on, but I estimated they would hatch this weekend and i would go into lockdown today but... I have a chicky!
I'm relating to that show "I didn't know I was pregnant" where women have no clue they're pregnant until they give birth, and they've had no pre-natal care. LOL.
