They are drop dead gorgeous!![]()
How are you?
Sounds like a good plan, the first time my blrw's went broody this year 1 kept crushing them in the shell. Since her sister was brooding also I let her hatch them then stuck them under the other one after they dried off. They shared raising 6 chicks together.Thank youNot my first but the last time I had a broody it was about 8 years ago. A marans hen: her second year being a mama was horrible. She hatched them and then I started finding them dead. She would cluck and call them for food, then turn and start trying to kill them. It was weird, her first year she was an amazing mom! After that I just raised them myself: hatchery birds I kept forever. So I'm a little nervous here. Going to add some Bresse from chiqita in a couple of days. I couldn't get up to her to get eggs, so she's got a hatch timed with these 2 eggs. I'm going to get those from her and slip them under this hen too.
I'm good! Thinking about getting two more pullets from Molly if possible or one of you guys if not. All the girls are laying except Ellie, the EE in the bottom pic and the SLW, but their combs are red so I'm hoping soon! Our goats are slowly, slowly adjusting to their new home. They are a whole new learning experience but like the chickens are super fun! Work takes up a bunch of time, but hey that's retail and I'm thankful I have a job!
What about you?
Wow the top gold laced is beautiful! What breed?
can't wait to get some eggs from them and start hatching!
