The Regional A boxes are 10 X 7 X 4.34 and the

for comparison the Medium Flat rate box is 11 X 8.5 X 5.25 (in the middle between the two Reg. Boxes)
I keep all three boxes on hand and depending on Zip Code ship accordingly. It is usually cheaper to ship using the regional boxes (by weight) than using the Flat Rate Boxes.
I ship my eggs rolled like burritos standing up in the box so the the 4.75" or 5.25" height works very well. I don't use the taller boxes.

You want to order Regional A1 and Regional B1 - they are top lading. The 2's are side loading and don't work for eggs.

Cute babies!!!! Go, chickies, go!!!

mom has already started leaving the nest to get food and water, so i've taken the four remaining unhatched eggs & popped them in the incubator, will see if they do anything -- the two i thought had pipped already just had spots on them. i wouldn't be surprised if the cold weather had affected some of them -- but glad three are out and healthy, and will see if any more emerge in the incubator!

follow the method described an put thin foam on the bottom, top and sides of box. Use foam packing nuggets as filler around the eggs.

There is a stress spot in the box--usually at the bottom in from the right corner. To keep that egg from cracking, double boxing makes a huge difference. put the smaller box into a larger box and surround the box with packing foam.

I have had boxes shipped like above that looked like a forklift tine had gone into it. No broken eggs and a great hatch rate. I have had single packed boxes in similar shape dripping egg goo because of the poor packing.

If I know the are going to a place that is particularly rough on eggs. Atlanta Georgia and Washington State are Notoriously bad. For regional inside CA I would not double box.

ok so if not double boxing i will just line the box with padding and put the eggs in bubble wrap like burritos/open end tubes, and then off they go. ok i think i got it. ive been shipping in cartons and some have been getting broken. i bubble wrap and place in carton then bubble wrap carton and into a box. im trying to find the best way possible because coming up i have some pretty valuable eggs that will be shipped.

I haven't been on in forever, and I missed all you guys!! It's been so cold that my younger ones all fight to hang out and "sun themselves" at the dryer vent.
