Ron, on another note, for my f1 olive eggers (Easter egger hen x bcm rooster) should I have them in with the bcm roo again or a Easter egger roo to get a better chance to continue the olive color?

The BCM roo will make the green darker but there will be more that miss the blue egg shell gene and will be laying Brown eggs. It gets tricky with generations after the first.

Niclandia says they will not be F2s they will be: technically not F2s ... they are called BC1(Back Cross to Parent 1)...or I suppose BC2 if you use the other parent.

I saw a chart that shows is but apparently I did not save it. The eggs are supposed to get to a Kahki color.

so maybe put them in with the Easter egger roo?

If the eggs are dark enough yes! The egg will eventually lighten up and then you would have to breed back to the Marans.

It is a lot of work--so much that most breeders only work with F1 OEs.
Ok I think I'll put the f1s in with the ee and put some ee girls in with the marans and make some more haha

i certainly owe you some chicks!! you'll be top of the list...

My friends who own the farm that my breeding flock lives at are looking for some Muscovy ducks. I can't remember if anyone on this thread breeds them but I told them that I would ask. Anyone have Muscovy ducks???
I hear they are more quiet than Pekins. But all I have are pekins. Love my pretty babies. I have another female too.
