I was attacked by a flock of MAD CHICKENS this morning!!!! Of course it could be because I went into their run with a big sheet pan full of Hot oatmeal laced with scrambled eggs, sour cream, yoghurt and Blueberries. I was lucky to get outta there with my life...hahaha! They ate that stuff like they were starving!!! Took pictures of the attack chickens! Oh and the surrounding landscape...now u can see why they needed some hot food!!!

No luck for the weary!!! I'm already snowed in! Our 4lane highway is shut down and so is Rt 18 which are the major thoroughfares in the area. We have 7" of snow right now and more coming Thursday evening into Fri morn. In 30 minutes today there were 22 car accidents dispatched to our local VOLUNTEER fire department. Needless t say things were pretty chaotic for a bit. My girls are ok with it their run is covered in plastic and tarped so they stay warm n dry.

I think you would appreciate the Chicken State University Thread. They did a great section on Wyandottes. Be sure to also go to page 1 to read the rules before participating in the thread. This is not a typical forum where you chat. CSU is structured like a class and participants are expected to stay on target, and discuss the breed being discussed.

Oh I hope lots of people are picture happy and want to share on the forum. Love all the different perspectives! If you see a Golden Laced Wyandotte Cockerel can you try to get a good picture of his head that shows the comb orientation? I'd like to see what is being shown. This is mine: I'm told he has great type but that his comb is large. I'd like to see HOW large or what exactly the person meant. If you find one and have time, I really appreciate the picture! Thank you so much!

I don't give a fig about being politically correct. BUT, where I live is generally not poultry people. You say cock in a crowd around here and you'll get a lot of strange looks.

Stag for over 2 years I think? My vet friend is all about the stag. He is a big believer in stags for breeding.

Thank you so much for that! I've been looking at pictures on the CSU thread linked to me. Since seeing those pictures, I decided to not to worry about the comb size. He is only 6 months. Looks like a full grown GLW is supposed to have a rather large comb! My hens are too long bodied. I think I need new hens. But I'm keeping this boy. Thanks again for your input.
