Here are some recent pics of my Pita Pinta pullets. They can be hard to take pics of because as soon as I go out there, they mob me. They don't seem to be leary of the camera at all unlike most of my other birds. They aren't quite at POL but soon! Zoro caught one yesterday and had his way with her! I put out an extra nest box yesterday with a fake egg in it.

This pullet has the most white out of the 7 pullets.

pretty sure I want to go with these guys instead of Mottled Javas and quite sure I want her^^^ to be the mother of my future chicks

Ahh… now I get it. I was wondering why we were randomly putting rice and popcorn in the bators. Thought it was movie night or something.

So it helps absorb humidity, interesting.
I've figured I need to make computers notes of all the awesome info I get here. It just doesn't work well to have to search the thread for all of the details. There's just too much to remember.

Is there something I can wash my eggs with before incubating them?

Mana Pro makes an enzyme cleaner that has instructions for washing eggs prior to incubating them.

Mix 2 capfuls with one gallon of fresh, warm water. Allow eggs to sit in the solution for 10 to 15 minutes, then wash by using a clean, white cloth or brush. Rinse eggs thoroughly and refrigerate after washing. For fertilized eggs intended for incubation: allow eggs to sit in a warm solution for only 3 to 5 minutes, then lightly scrub with a cloth or brush, rinse and place in incubator. Dispose of solution after use. Pre-mixing for later use: Mix 8 capfuls with one gallon of fresh water to make a stock solution. When ready to use, add one quart of the stock solution to 3 quarts of fresh, warm water to make solution
I used this on three dirty eggs that I hatched for the 2014 New Years Day Hatch. worked fine.

Most say not two wash but they were eggs from my place so I did not care if it did not work.

Omg I want some! Brown or white eggs?

They lay light brown eggs. I hope to start getting my fertile this week and incubating some soon. They are big enough now to hatch!
