Took a few pics of my Pita Pinta roo Zoro today and his blue PP/Langshan cross babies. It looks like there are 3 "Pingshan" boys and 3 girls They are looking much more Langshan than Pita Pinta. Maybe I should call them Langshintas instead! You can also see a couple of the Bresse chicks that are in with them.

So the male Serama I got yesterday has very red and featherless skin on his breast/stomach and above his vent. Has anyone ever seen that?

Also when I pick up the female she holds her mouth open. When she breathes there is a click noise with each breath out. She does do it when I'm not holding her too.

I have them separate from my flock. Is there anything I should do? I did put frontline plus on them and VetRX on there combs.

I have seen the skin turn red when the chicken is scalped and the feathers do not grow back in.

Fungal infections cause breathing problems too.

o no! How do I treat that? There lovely! But need some help.

Call who you got them from and ask if they know what is going on. Is there any discharge from the nose? Are her toenails long? Is she eating and drinking? Is she thin? Is there any smell?

Do not wear the same clothes and bleach your hands between flocks with those symptoms.

Thats all I know to look for with the first symptoms you have mentioned.

I called they said they haven't had any problems with them. No discharge, her nails have been clipped, they were eating and drinking, I don't think their thin, their wing feathers at the bottom are dirty. But they've been in a cage all weekend. She had them at the show. The female has son poo on her feathers under her vent. Normal looking poo, maybe from being in cramped area.

Do chickens get Air Sac Mites? Finches do and the clicking and open mouth breathing sounds just like ASM.

I think they do and I think I found evidence of them in my last at home necropsy. Want to see pictures? lol

:/ treatment? Poor birds! Their gonna get treated for everything.... Ok maybe not everything but I need to get them fully healthy!

One of the chicks I brought into the house is looking a little weak and lays down on it's chest a lot. I have NutriDrench, but it is concentrate and says to mix it at 4 oz to 1 gallon of water for chicks this age.. It has a dropper but does not say how much the dropper holds. It also says to give it directly in the mouth of weak birds, but isn't clear on whether to give the diluted solution or the concentrate.
