Ok...I just watched the video. I've been on BYC for almost a year and have purposefully avoided it until now. And I'm with you Liz on the dispatching part...I feel traumatized. I may need therapy....Hatching therapy should fix me right up.

I did not watch the video but there are other ways to kill them, including a high velocity pellet gun.

Look down at my signature file and click on the processing support link. Subscribe to that thread. There are a lot of us there that will get you through the processing hurdles.

We are experimenting with it. One day of incubation before shipping has been reported to help with hatch rates.

I had chicks pip on day 19 with my last hatch. I checked the dates and I was correct. The little buggers were just anxious to get out, I guess!

It wasn't pleasant but it wasn;t as bad as I thought it would be. It also didn't really show enough detail for me to feel like I would be able to do it the same way.

I think the video the guy on camera was getting would how more of the processing part. You could really only see the opposite end of the bird he was working on..
