Waiting for pictures :pop     My first d'Anver to hatch, the little lavender (khaki) chick was all slimy! Not sure why. The other chicks hatched out normal. That is why she doesn't look as fluffy as the others.

Have you been on Boggy Bottom Bantams website? WOW! is all I can say when looking at all those different colors! I did post pictures on the d'Anver thread to ask Aubrey what color he thought the one that looks lavender is and he said he thinks it will be a solid khaki. He also said he was sort of jealous because he has never hatched that color before! I have been meaning to buy some eggs from his porcelains to go with the pair (can't breed them, they are brother and sister) I got from another breeder. You are going to have some neat colors. I especially like the ginger reds! Hope you get a good hatch! :D
I did check up his website. I had never seen anything but the black, white, we had a couple of quail. If the porcelain hatch we may be able to work out a swap. Here I go counting chickens before they hatch. The eggs did look good compared to another shipment I got, air cells are wiggly but not free floating all over, I was reminded of snow globes when I candled them. Go babies go!

Jason, we have a wildlife rehab/education center up here. They have a bobcat that someone took from it's mother hoping to raise it as a pet. They even found a vet to declaw the poor thing. When it got older they gave it up, they are really smelly, even outdoors.

Lewey is pretty close in temperament isn't he, or is my perception of Bengals wrong?

They were telling me here that our Rose was in heat, she is just warming up. They haven't heard anything yet. Time to get her in for surgery, I don't need her sneaking outside on us.

Lol i was just kidding on the Bobcat
The are marvelous creatures though.

Lewey is a great mix of super lovey and wild lol.
He has incredible leaping ability and Bengals make a unique sound.
When his tail puffs up watch out he becomes a wild animal lol.

Ok, so i swear the hens with saddles are worse than the others. I think he gets his feet underneath the saddle. Perhaps slipping on the saddle, he struggles more to hang on. Who knows. Even have the butterfly saddles.

BUT, got my dremel today (thanks to my AMAZING husband). And tried it out. Wanted a cheap one that would go all crazy on his nails.
Worked great. Wasn't able to go to far because, while they were sharp, the quick was right there. So easy I did it myself.

So hopefully the quick will recede and I could get it a bit duller. I read to do a "smidgeon" every day, but that seems like too much. Perhaps a couple of times a week and we'll get those puppies a bit duller.

Ouch! Is he poking holes in the saddle, or pushing up the wings? Maybe you can add a strap to the middle (under her belly), to keep the wings down. OR, maybe we could make rooster slippers. Like covers for his feet?!!? Now I'm getting ideas....

No holes poking through. It must be his feet are getting underneath. My husband said the SAME thing! Rooster shoes or gloves haha!

So a few weeks ago I gave eggs to my husbands friend. The next week at like 8 PM, he gets this call.
He , looking puzzled, asks me "do you have any eggs?"
Me; "Uh, ya. Why?"
DH: "Well they LOVED the eggs and really want more. They'll either pay you for them or trade for firewood." (They sell firewood).
Me: "How much firewood do they trade for eggs?"

So my husband was a little shocked that these people are so enamored by my chicken eggs. The family texted him again tonight saying the eggs were "AMAZING".
My husband is probably just a little spoiled over here. He doesn't understand why so many people are wanting farm fresh eggs so badly.

I told him before, someday he can retire cause we're going to get rich of these chickens lol! That makes is sound like there's a method to this madness!

Make him eat eggs from Walmart for two weeks! He will understand then.....

I remember seeing claw/toenail covers at the vets office a few years ago. They are glued on the cats or dogs nails to prevent scratching people, walls and floors. They might work on roosters also.
