I remember seeing claw/toenail covers at the vets office a few years ago. They are glued on the cats or dogs nails to prevent scratching people,walls and floors. They might work on roosters also.

That's a great idea! I wonder if i can purchase it and do it myself or they do it (which wouldn't work)

I have heard that fragile packages often fare better when they are NOT marked "fragile".  Sometimes I think the carrier takes it as a personal challenge and does their best to handle it roughly.  I'm glad not are broken.  Hope they settle well and you get a good hatch!

No, and I'm not sold on the shots myself.  My children all had the chicken pox.  A school mate of theirs went and got all her shots, broke out in chicken pox and GAVE IT to all the kids at school.  Well, almost all of them.  Some had already had them and a few who had the shots didn't get them.  Several in that school who'd had the shots got them anyway.  Small school of less than 50 students so all the parents knew each other and went.  HUNH    The only benefit of getting the shots that I can see is that IF you avoid the CP, then you can avoid the shingles.  That's looking pretty good to me right now!

Still, I think it's funny that I'm mad I can't shop for eggs.  I must have a bit of an addiction.

Well I am bummed.  I have shingles.  Its rather horrible.  I'm stuck at home wishing I could rip part of my face off.  Yes it's that bad.  I'm only 36 and a nursing mother so it took a while before they diagnosed (too young for shingles) and then I can't have the antiviral (nursing) so I'm stuck miserable.

What kills me is that I'm bored and my incubator doesn't work.  I can't even shop for eggs.  Shopping for eggs is so much fun!  There you have it.  I have shingles and I'm mad that I can't shop for eggs.

Awe man...that sucks!!! I have to run to Modesto on Friday to get my Subaru serviced. Do you need groceries or anything? Sorry, I don't have any chicks right now...only eggs

I didn't really know what a Guinea Fowl was. So I finally looked them up and now...I WANT SOME. Do they hunt gophers? Will they eat red ants?

Muscovy's eat ants. Guineas are big bullies!! My boy launches himself at my turkey toms when they go to eat marans food. He has bad aim however so he bounces off. They are supposed to be nasty in groups however and remember.......

I see drying feathers. I'm debating adding a chip in the zip or leaving it till morning. 24 hours since first pip and it's zipped about 1 inch along...now it's stalled.

There is a second pip from this morning and I'd rather not open the bater but over 24 hours that chick has to be drying out?

Okay so update on my little science experiment. the embryp is fptming and theirs blood vessels but right now they are in like a circle on top of the yolk is that normal? And should that egg be okay if its not turned?
