I would like to share some photos of my new BW Ameracuana chicks who recently joined our hearts and home. These beautiful, adorable chicks were bred by Chickee (Candy). They hatched on Feb. 14th : ) Couple of months ago, when I saw the photos of Candy's birds, I was quite taken by their beauty, but, when I finally saw them in person, realized that it would be very difficult to do justice to their mesmerizing colors through the lens of the camera. These chicks are beyond belief in person! It is such a wonderful experience to acquire birds from a delightful and gracious breeder lady.. Thank you very much, Candy!

Yes! eating, playing and then sleeping is their favorite past time hobby : )
They are beautiful, congrats!

Juststruttin does. Might email her spring has sprung I bet she is crazy buzy in her irl job.
I do, and I have been contemplating selling it. Its a great incubator but it appears that my son may be allergic to chick dander so no more incubating in the house. I am either going to insulate the barn or sell the Dickey. PM me if interested.

Lizanne, any signs of spiky feathers on crest? Our female, Elvis, had more rounded hen feathers on her crest but the boys had feathers similar to hackle feathers. We sexed them when they started to crow, we where that confident.

I was lucky enough to get a couple of pullets from Chicke too and I agree 100% on "delightful & gracious" part! My girls ar definitley a wonderful part of my flock and give be gorgeous blue and blue-green eggs/ They are my grand kids favorites to eat.... Your pullets look like they will grow into beautiful young ladies too!

I got pippin and zipping over here.
They are in egg trays.
Should i let the one climb over all the rest or open it up and put him on the rubber shelf liner?
He's on a tray that holds 24, and in the back.

They are a day early. 1 popped out and 2 more pips

Congrats!

Oh, don't do that to me!! We have a limit of 10 hens here in Anderson - I have 6 now & am keeping 2 from a group I'm getting on April 7th. If I get more than 2 on the 29th I'd have to sell the extras after they're old enough! I just wanted to make sure they won't be lonely with just two of them. This is, IF I get any on the 29th. Only if I find something that interests me, and they have to be sexed, so we'll see. I just love exotic looking birds.

I need to live on acreage so I can have 50 chickens. Lol!
