How scary! It does depend on what the wormer was but I suspect that is what caused the deformed chick. Gotta love mutagens![]()

Quote: It is scary... I suspect the wormer used might have been fenbendazole (Safeguard) as I had to worm one of my peahens during last season and had my first ever deformed chick. Didn't think much about it at the time, but I'll sure think twice next time I have to worm one.

Nice eye candy, but that's about it. No, wait, they do lay huge eggs that make great meals!![]()

I have heard of them breaking their yolk sacks. Was it real runny? Or did it look like this:okay so the duck egg with the hole it pecked was still working on it this morning.. another duckling came out an hour ago. It rolled the egg over just a few minutes ago and yellowish guck poured out. I pulled it out and cleaned up the mess and the duckling is dead inside the egg... is it possible it broke it's own yolk sack and drowned in it.?
