California - Northern

Quick shout out to @Audio51 and @PetRock ! Tonight I used your suggestions ...got nesting material from her nest put in some of the eggs then brought the rest and Miss Norma is settled in like a champ In the broody box. Thank you both so much for your help. I also candled the 8 egg under her 7 CA Grey cross,,,black sex links.. and I think 1 Dorking cross could be a SL depends on the daddy...anyway all are kicking vigorously. Day 17 and all of the eggs under booth broodies are still good to go!!!

I've been out maneuvered by my chickens. My bantam Cochin is broody so I snuck 10 eggs under her. This is day 3. There are now close to 16 eggs she's under and not all the numbers are there that are from 1-10. Lol that's what she gets for brooding in the favorite box.
It is funny to see a litlle bird perced in the middle of a bunch of eggs but If you want her to have the most successful hatch you should mark the eggs you want her to hatch and remove the others daily. otherwise she will end up with more than she can cover. perfect viable embryos won't develop fully b/c they won't be incubated properly if she has too many to sit on. Good Luck!

Adorable, I just love my showgirls. This is Priscilla, a paint hen.
I do love that picture! But I ain't calling them pricillas! Deb did you see to accept them the aba demanded a name change to naked necked silkies? So rude. Here is peaches.

I'm thinking these would taste good with Turkey sausage too! Make a real thin patty or cut links in half...hmmmm. Happy cooking!:frow
