@Ron. Wow man. I'm so sorry to here that. I hope her house makes it safely through this fire. I'm getting more and more nervous by the minute...

@meg yea Jeff was super cool for that. I definitely owe him one. But yea I can't wait until my chicks get big like yours. Yours are going on a month old now right?

I'm sorry, Ron. :( I have been very careful NOT to complain about the smoke. People are having to walk away from their homes, find homes for their animals....it's awful. <3

Thank you Both!

The news report said the fire was stopped at hyway 44 so ok for today. My oldest daughter is already making plans for the rebuild

We are funny that way. My mom is in Redding and safe. It would be sad to lose everything up their but at least everyone is safe. I am praying for the firemen.

Woohoo! I am looking forward to doing this and terrified at the same time. They are sooo cute!

They did well today. I came home from nannying and they're still hanging out. I found them in the coop making their selves at home! Lol such cool animals. You're guys will do fine. Maybe you can sit outside with them for an hour or so when you let them out? Don't know what your schedule is like but I felt a lot more comfortable leaving them outside after I watched them for a while. Good luck Zoo!

Omg I didn't even think about all the animals. Dang. So sad :-(

They will be 4 weeks on Saturday! I can't believe how fast they grow!! My breeding quad are about 19-20 weeks (right Ron?)

Yes, a marans rooster over a barred hen will also make black sex links. Here's the result from the calculator:

EER co+co+ db+db+ pg+pg+ ml+ml+ Cha+Cha+ Mhmh+ di+di+ Ig+Ig+ cb+cb+ i+i+ bl+bl+ Lav+Lav+ C+C+ Mo+Mo+ Bb+ Ss+ Choc+Choc+

We let the baby chicks out in the pen for the first time today to get their forage on.. They were loving it!! You can definitely see the roosters now in both breeds. So far I see 3 Marraduna Basque roos and 2 Pita Pinta roos.

This little on jumped up on my arm and decided to roost there. What a sweet baby!:

they are cute. I love the look of those Pita pintas

Ditto on this and the prayers for the fire crews.
X3.
That was supposed to be I'm hoping you are all safe AND firecrews, i only got 1 quote!
So I had a puffed up chick today and a pink poo. After zoos scare everyone is on solqel. Do the big birds need it in there water too? I Only saw pink poo inside in the chicks.

The bad thing is I had a customer come TEN MINUTES before I noticed and get some chicks. SO I trucked over to her house with the treated water and instructions. Hopefully everything will be ok, none of the other chicks look sick or litless or anything, everyone is chipper and happy. Happy chicks are zoo chicks!
