im bumping this because im still curious what to do
Hope he will look good. also the other day when my incubator fell i saved two eggs. today is day 19 one egg died due to a crack in the shell lettib bacteria in (or from the jodtling around) does my ee egg have a chance in hell of hatching after that? it has a saddle shapped aircell and what looks like a second aircell? On the top any explantions on that?

Here is what I would do for 2 batches.
1. Use cups on the side for humidity.

2. When it comes time to Hatch take them out of the turner and put them in a sterilised cardbord egg flat if you can get the one that is for 48 or so eggs that will give you the cleanest after bator.
3. Book turn the incubator while hatching at a small angle to still give some turn to the new eggs but not disturb you hatchers.
4. Take the egg flat and plastic water thing (that has not been used for water) out when you take the first hatch out. Spray the incubator with activated oxine or something that kills ecoli. Put remaining eggs in turner back into bator.

Perfect! That definitely sounds do-able.

The hard fall damaged the air cell. Shipping does the same thing. They still hatch but the hatch rate goes down to 50%.

Cracks almost always kills the egg because bacteria gets into it.

I hope the EE egg makes it!

That's a great deal and a pretty easy fix. Sure wish I could find a used one for a price like that, I'd sure buy it! I'm seeing some strange intermittent problems with mine, so that's why I asked.

Yes I feel lucky. I drove to Fresno to buy chicks from her & she had a couple of incubators for sale. The friend I went with bought the cheaper Hovabator type & I took the R-Com.

I can see him/her inside but i dont see any movement. today is day 20 i believe so im kinda worried he wont hatch
On day 20 you can often hear chirping from the shell. It is hard to see them unless they have moved into the air cell. They do that sometimes and then the head can be seen moving in the big end of the egg.

There is not much to do now...

That was a very bad dog! I would be very sad if my incubator was knocked off of the table like that.

I dont hear chirping or anything (what i meant by seeing is seeing the darkness inside) i can still see veins so does that mean hes still alive?

Needed to fill up those brooders huhh :)

Keeping my fingers crossed for the Legbars.

This is a Little Giant that doesn't get cleaned, but the person that uses it still manages to get decent hatch rates from it, so maybe I am too paranoid?

I'm with you, I clean and sanitize after every hatch. Then I put a freshly washed shelf liner in the bottom each time. The water I add has a bit of Oxine in it. Can't be too safe from the bacteria.

I had this with my male border collie, Riley. I was painting the room that holds my incubators, so the table was pulled away from the wall. He was circling the room (duh, what else would he be doing............he's a border collie, LOL), anyway he ran along the wall behind the table and the wire from the genesis to the power bar caught on his stifle as he ran by. The incubator hit the floor, all the eggs tumbled from the turner and a few cracked. It wasn't mischief on his part and I love him more than the chickens anyway.

It was my fault for not locking him up while I was working in there. Anyway, the eggs that didn't crack mostly hatched without problem.

I was more upset the time the same exact thing happened with one of my female border collies, Ceilidh. But the wire her leg caught on was attached to my laptop. It hit the tile floor and had to be replaced.

Once again, totally my own fault
