Quote: I'm with you on that one. I don't really use CL much for that reason. I was rasinf canaries a few years back ans someone wanted ans un-realated pair for breeding. They were fine with the prices, but shows up with a medium sized dog crate to take canaries home in! I could not believe it! They would have been thru the bars and gone within seconds. I use Ebay Classifieds for buying and selling for the most part. For some reason there seems to be more realistic expectations from people there.

Ive been looking at doing some sort of "foster" service and possibly doing Hatch and Foster as well. Do people do that?

What are the chances that eggs shipped from Pennsylvania with be viable?

hope they are I had a good hatch from Ohio

Man, you can find some really good deals on hatching eggs on eBay, even from sellers with fantastic feedback. What is usually the hatch rate of shipped eggs? I read less than 50%, is that true?
id say they average 50 but can vary from 0 to ?

Here's one of them.

What other option is there besides processing the extra boys? I don't think there's anything else that can be done...that or selling them to someone who will process.

Hopefully most people think like that! I'm hatching out TJ's chicks and some rarer Silver Penciled Rocks so we'll see which sells faster!

Ha! I would have to tell everyone to bring their own box because I have none.

My incubator is going to arrive ahead of schedule! It'll be here tomorrow. Time to go get some TJ's eggs so they can set for 24 hours :)

Once they find a nice hole to dust bathe in, they go for it!

What would u get if a gold phornix hen was crossed with a silver phoenix roo?
Im also grtting an oegb in june anything i should know about them? Are they aggressive?

I do not know about Phoenix. They are pretty and need room for their tails to grow out nicely.

Have fun with them!

Contact the store and find out when the come in. See if you can get some of the freshest set aside for you.

Just called and they said they get the new eggs every morning, so they should be plenty fresh even if I were to pick them up today. We'll see...It's hard for me to leave the house in the mornings so it's probably best that I go tonight.
The lady who I was going to buy the Silver Penciled Rocks from doesn't have enough eggs for me(she only has 2) so now I don't know what else I'm going to hatch :(
