He got his Golden Cuckoo Marans from me![]()
Fantastic color...If the ones I had laid eggs that color I would still have them. I love crele coloring & have just hatched out 2 Bielefelder pullets. They were shipped eggs, I think old & in bad shape I will never buy from that seller again.
My babies are growing soooo fast! I really hope they are all girls. I am assuming so until they show signs otherwise... anyone have any guesses so far? They are all chicks from feed stores, supposed to be pullets.
They have all been developing such personalities, they crack me up. They are also very hard to get good pictures of...
The lighter colored EE, 3 weeks old. Will she keep the yellow/gold feathers developing on her chest?

The darker EE, 3 weeks old. She is my most aloof chick so far, and she also likes to peck others' tail feathers. I've been discouraging it when I see it, and so far no wounds or anything.

The Australorp, 3 weeks old. She is the smallest of the crew, but she's very perky and follows the Sussex and Barred Rock around, doing whatever the bigger girls do.

The Speckled Sussex, 4 weeks old. She used to be more aloof but has come around. She's also surprisingly heavy for her size, although not too surprising because she seems to eat more often than everyone else. Except for maybe the Australorp, who follows her like a shadow.

Last but not least, the Barred Rock, 4 weeks old. She is the most social of everyone. As soon as I open the brooder, she is out and on my arm, hanging out and generally is very curious.

On a somewhat related note, I found an awesome chicken-related print at the sci-fi convention I worked this past weekend! I just couldn't pass it up![]()

Quote: Agreed, it could be any genetic issue. I don't know the color of the Isbars overseas, but the eggs are much lighter than the egg picture on Greenfire's website.
Quote: Very cool!
Nice lineup!
YAH!!!!! just be very gentle and don't handle more than needed.I get to candle my eggs tomorrow night!! First time handling them all since setting. Two weeks until hatch.
I am SO excited. When I peeked in the TJ's eggs I saw several were developing.![]()
Wow! That is huge!!
Nice selection! That Speckled Sussex is looking very roo-ish with that big comb. Barred Rock could go either way, but the comb is not huge so leaning toward pullet. The others look like pullets though. I really love the print! My babies are growing soooo fast! I really hope they are all girls. ETA the artist's name. Must give credit where credit is due.
...I really shouldn't post late at night.
