Every time a group of roosters leaves, I can feel a pressure off my shoulders. Today was all girls, but that's a lot of egg songs. Since I'm feeding DOZENS of eggs back to the chickens, I don't really need all that laying going on here. Expensive way to come up with chicken feed

I so know what you mean. I would be embarrassed to admit how many eggs I have stacked everywhere in my dining room. I need to feed them back to the chickens too instead of letting them go totally to waste. The chicks in the brooders love the scrambled & chopped eggs I feed them I haven't done it with the others yet.

Yeah, don't worry about that. I won't tell you how many times I've tossed half a feed sack full of eggs because I was too lazy open/cook them.

If I was willing to handle/process them correctly I could probably keep a food closet supplied on my own. Hopefully not for long, I plan to keep cutting back the numbers until it's manageable.

august 13-17 here and no i think i msis counted days they are dark inside but none have jatched yet so idk
I had to start writing things down so I could keep track. Now I have everything on paper so I can refer to that.

So when do you think they are really due?

I'm afraid DH may have done in the Silkie eggs running the whole house fan the last couple of nights:hit
One was peeping at me 2 days ago but when I got back from doing growers market and didn't see pipping I candled, no movement in it or the other 3. I haven't checked the Maran egg yet.
Aww...man! So sorry...

Quote: I think she meant the fair is in August.

August fairs are awful, pretty birds come in and the next day we're sweeping feathers! We go to State 3 weeks later. It would be nice if we could get on the schedule for June, doubt we will be changing dates, this is the 100th anniversary of our fair.

I think the fair is in Susanville. It can be cooler there.

It is sometimes too hot for me at the Silver Dollar Fair in May. The County Fair here is in August too....I don't go to that one...

Quote: It gets pretty hot in Susanville that time of year too. It' is similar to Paradise in weather patterns from what I have seen.
