this is wonderful
"It is so ironic that cities have an ordinance banning roosters since they "make too much noise." Yet is it acceptable for a yard full of dogs to bark all night long" -ochochicas

Last night I had just picked up Dolph(Crele Penedesenca) to put him up for the night when a bottle rocket zipped over my head!

I do not expect to get many eggs today. It was like a war zone last night!

Ugh I'm driving through woodland right now and there's so much smoke! Hurts my eyes!

I am having a fairly good turn out of eggs this morning but again a small town and most everyone left for the holidays so it was dead quiet for the last couple of days .....

The Popping and booms continued until 1:30 in the morning. The hens were making alarm sounds too.

I have collected some eggs though. The smoke from the Barryessa fire is bad so I will try to stay inside and may cancel exercise for the morning.

That is great!

If you are sure of the incubator temperature, the delay is from storage.

Watch them--they may be sticky.

I had a couple of nights the first week where the temp dropped a degree or so, that may be a factor but I will keep an eye on it. Thank you.

I opened the three TJs and one EE egg and all were dead, late quitters. Not a fun way to end a hatch, seeing dead chicks. :(
Just drove to Sacramento, leaving for Hawaii tomorrow morning at 4am. I'm going to be exhausted! But I'm excited. I'll probably disappear from this forum for over a week while I'm there in Hawaii

I spent all of yesterday in a fireworks booth. We had quite a few customers from Redding--I'll admit I was wondering if anyone from here spent the 4th in Crescent City. Be funny if anyone here bought some stuff from Reach Out Ministries' booth (aka the last booth in town with sparklers
