California - Northern

That should be, can you post a picture? And no, the crest would have nothing to do with that.

I'll get a pic tonight. I love my CLB's The girls and boys are so different it's cool.

I'm not so certain anymore about my Delaware being a boy. He has not kept up with the red face development of the Pita Pintas and not even close with the CLBs.

I had my first 2 egg day yesterday. So I think Lurk laid 5/7 and the new layer has now laid 2.

3 of the girls squat now 1 is still as flighty as ever. Not sure why she is that way. They have become more friendly lately too. More willing to be picked up and even asking for it some times.
Maybe the Buffs are rubbing off on them. The buffs are just loves. They want to be picked up stroked scratched etc. A couple of the birds really like to be chin scratched. Others like the ear lobes rubbed. They seem to like their backs scratched and crop gently massaged.

Squatting usually happens from one to two weeks from the first egg. Ripping up the nest box is closer.

That sounds right so I should be expecting a 3 egg day soon as they have the 3 have been doing it for a week or more.
I never thought Chickens would be this much fun but they really are.

The heat is tough though. Supposed to peak out today at 106. yesterdays heat kind of blind sided my daughter (the one who tends them when I'm at work)

Im going to get the misters installed this weekend.

Chickens are very fun for sure!

The heat was similar for us. Luckily I had the misters set to turn on at two and run to Five yesterday.

hoping for a three egg day for you soon!

Do you know of a connector that can be made to adapt it to a drip line or do you simply have to separate the hose connector end and plug it inline.
There are a bunch of filters, plugs and etc. that goes along with the system. This is my second year with them and I have added the calcium filter because we have very hard water in Woodland.
