California - Northern

I have my first blue egg from my Americauna(yes a real one--buff) Dorking cross(please remember this was an accident) The egg is much bluer that the one laid by the Easter Egger I have.

The Rooster that I gave to Monsterclucker should have a very nice and fairly pure blue egg gene:

I can't wait to see what Mike's easter egger chickens lay...

NICE!!

Some more pictures from yesterday's photo shoot.

Silver penciled Plymouth Rock

BC Marans (ignore the comb spots, he just got dumped into the excess cockerel pen and they were all working out the "pecking order").

But he is quite a handsome boy.

A group of seramas (I hatched 14 chicks and got 12 boys

)

This one threw me for awhile, it was accidentally included in a box of chicks. I couldn't figure out what it was because of the single comb. It's a silver laced Wyandotte with a DQ comb, LOL. It made it to the cull pen (poor guy).

Deb (still need to sort the Icelandic pictures)

alright we will wait on the icelandic pic's

debs that rock looks great, who's he from?
Thanks, actually he's my third place boy in my extra cockerel pen. I have two that I like better. I got them from Dick Horstman. I have a few that I culled for some color leakage and a couple more youngsters coming along with potential.

That's great, the birds I've raised from dick legs never looked that good. Congrats.

If you need more birds petrock hatched about 15 or so from my line before I gave them up.

Okay, the Icelandics and then I'll stop hogging the thread with pictures (at least for awhile).

I already posted a head shot of Arne, here's his body.

This is Heimo

This is the third place boy, he'll be going. He is timid though and I could NOT get a picture of him walking around the run.

Here's one of the pullets..........they should be so close to laying.
