Haha I knew you would Like them!

I found rarebreedauctions the other day. The auction expired when I saw it. But I emailed the guy he still had them.
So you know me! Straight to Western union! Lol.

I should have them by Saturday. I don't even have a pen built yet. I've gotta go papa brooder style and knock out a coop overnight!!
I'm just gonna build them a hoop coop with nest boxes just for them since they are already laying.

I don't know which is worse--knowing about rarebreedauctions or knowing that you can contact sellers that do not sell and still get them....I may be in trouble now too....

Oh I totally forgot to share today's egg catch.

Our BIG egg was 92 grams! Woohoo! All duck eggs.
That is one big egg!

I forgot to thank you for the EE picture! I bet you get an egg from one of them soon.
We have a duck with bumblefoot. Anyone have experience with this? Not looking forward to this one! LOL
I keep looking at my girls to make sure their feet are ok. I have never had to treat this but have read that if one gets it there is a good chance that others will too.

Order some Oxyne from Amazon, Jeffers or somewhere online and then use it to clean up the places where they may be running into the staff virus.

If you post pictures, I will try real hard to view

them after breakfast...I have too many eggs right now so plan on using a bunch for French Toast in the morning.

Lol! Well I think the blackberry bushes were the cause of the wound and the DLM using hay sealed the deal. They LOVE to tunnel through those stupid blackberry bushes and I know they have to step on thorns sometimes. After removing all that hay the coop is SO clean. I love using the horse pellets! We try to sift it every week and add a bag. Maybe if we had been doing this before it wouldn't be an issue. :\ I think when you have rocky, thorny land- you are bound to run into this. Matter of time. It's def not the worse case I have ever seen. Actually about a month ago she was favoring the foot. That's about the time we went to pellets. She now no longer limps or favors it. So it might actually be resolving itself? I think Rooster Booster in their drinking water for a while couldn't hurt. I am really hesitant to lance it when she was limping and standing on one foot a month ago and now she is using it like normal.

And to add to that- in the morning we are hosing her foot off with Vetericyn spray and then applying some Neosporin and then Bag Balm (it's really sticky hard to get off in cold water when they swim) on top. I will keep doing that too. Oxine is on my list of things to just have around the house! Good for dogs, cats, livestock!

Maybe blu-kote would be helpful? Just a thought.

Sounds good!

Roses have their own weird toxin in them that can cause problems. I wonder if it isn't bumblefoot but a different type of wound from the Black Berries and it is healing on it's own?

Good job taking care of them!

We have problems growing Black Berries here--the soil and water are very Alkaline.
