California - Northern

Well it did not snow here but it was cold enough that my water pipes were frozen when I got up this morning so I have to wait to water the animals

It was in the mid 20's here in Boulder Creek yesterday morning, and when I flushed the toilet at 6 in the morning, I heard noises out of those pipes I've never heard before.... Had me worried for a while!

@nikki1496 Neat looking tracks. No clue what they are, although first one looks canine or feline - maybe 'yote or bobcat?

So here's a funny story. Two days ago I'm pretty late putting my birds away - maybe 9 o clock. Had the mother of all headaches after getting home. Anyways. I go up to put everyone away. Everybody is there, except of course my two Sussex and Buttercup hens who insist on sleeping in the trees (fine by me, I tried for three months to get them to go inside, if they wanna freeze they can go for it). And my new Cochin cockerel, Christmas.

I go looking for him and find this idiot, who has someone gotten frost all over himself. I have absolutely no idea how he managed that, although it speaks volumes as to just how frickin cold it is here in the foothills. He was otherwise unharmed (it was only on the surface feathers) but the effect was kinda neat so I snapped a few pics before brushing him off.

And a bonus pic of Christmas being very, very cute last week.
