That's great! Got my fingers crossed for hens for you!

Hahahaha. The million dollar question. We got a lot of pros here on BYC, it's pretty early, but if you post pictures and ask, you'll get some guesses already.

Ryn.
the problem is the eggs being from a grocery store--They could be a very odd mix.

Trader joes uses hy-line commercial breed--a brown rooster and a leghorn hybrid for hens

Is that for annual egg count or what?

Also I am hoping the local feed store has a little less random breeding, but that is probably a foolish idea... But hey, backyard birds lay all the unique eggs right?!

TJs gets them from more of a commercial place.

I did hatch for a farmer in the Winters area here that sold eggs in the Bay area. He had many different breeds and kept roosters with them so most of the eggs were fertile

Hello everyone. I need to get rid of these two little cutie pies. They are both mixed breeds, but completely lovable. The rooster just started crowing for the first time about an hour ago. The pullet has not lasted any eggs and I estimate she’s about a month off from starting. Their names are Butterscotch (or Scotchie) and Brownie. Scotchie’s the roo. They jump on me if there is any sign that I am holding treats. They are bantam sized. I am in El Dorado County, California. Please feel free to ask me any questions about them.
Below the pictures are info on their combs/earlobes and other info.

They are very cute!

I can't have roosters but I hope you find a good home for them

They're so cute! Good luck! I’m trying to rehome some sweet partially crested cockerels & pullets too. I tried the rehoming section but no luck so far. I wish I could keep the sweetie pies but I have to stay with family for awhile.
