But some of the others...yay!
What do you guys use for a broody den? For those of you that let your hens hatch? A small dog house (like a dogloo or something?) set up inside the coop? I want to be ahead of the game since I know Orps are a broody breed.
I have heard a LOT of Orp breeders use it.Has anyone used Calf Manna as a supplement? The creator of my lavender marans (and a few others) have told me to use it.
I don't 'need' broodies right now (I 'want' them lol) so I will use this knowledge to break them - especially if too many of those sweetie biddies want to set at the same time. LOLBroodies go broody where THEY want, if you're lucky it's also where you want them. If you move them, it usually breaks their broodiness.

Yes, I started using it last year when the egg shells on my layers seemed too thin. I saw a notable difference. I think the extra protein also helps keep production up. My girls are still laying fairly well considering it is November.Has anyone used Calf Manna as a supplement? The creator of my lavender marans (and a few others) have told me to use it.
