Me three.  I love blue chickens. :D

The barnevelder chick are hatching . They started last nights..... I want to open the cabinet so bad to see what colors and how many I got. I have four trays of eggs in the incubator and they are still finishing up. It is alittle hard to see the rack they are on. I see dark and light chicks....;)
I do know nineteen cream Legbars eggs made it into lockdown ...they ALL hatched. I pray for lots of girls... Last week I got eight boys and two girls .... :/

I really want to go see the show this weekend in Reno. I've never driven over the pass or in snow, so I was hoping someone else is going and wouldn't mind a passenger to help with gas. Anyone want to go???

Those little fluff butts are adorable Molly!

Orpington chicks are like Top 3 cutest chicks. The look like little micro stuffed animals. Lol

Sending good hatching vibes your way for the barnies! Even tho you have a Jetstream of Good Hatching Vibes streaming over your house already!

I spent some time today finding an amazing hawk story from This years Easter Hatchalong:

Ok so here are the pics the kids took when it happened the Hawk is very much alive as he was when I snatched his *** up off the ground! I am the one holding him and I frankly look like hellooo but had been doing farm chores all day, I am angry and half strangled with grief ...(I know some people don't get that, over a chicken, but the one I will post at the end is my Little Splenda chirping happily on my leg the day the HAwk went in her coop and tried to KILL her and she was smart enough thank God to hide under the little gang plank that goes outside she was frozen in fear...did I mention she is back in the dang house?
Update on Princess....she is rattling when she breaths....so I gave her a shot of Tylan 50 and a syringe og my concoction for sick birds nutra drench, baby parrot food,a bit of sugar. Vit E, polyvisol will be alternated to help her feel better I also go in and give her nice clean water thru a syringe so I know she is drinking...she can't stand but she will protest a bit and is sore...but the tried to flap her wings when I set her down earlier....she wont eat on her own at all but "looks" at it like she is thinking about it a little....so we will see. She is still alive. The incisions look good and the drain holes aren't oozing or anything. and there is no heat....wonder if I should should get some penicillin or something? I HAVE some for horses.....mmmmm
Here is the hateful Beast.
trying to explain size to Authorities.
.
HE was trying to fly upside down

I was trying not to cry

That is the coop behind me, that is the front of the coop where the layers are, not a chicken in sight! If you go around the back of that coop is the right side coop which is inside the door you can see and to the right. the pop door for that yard and coop is in the back low to the ground...where he went in.mind you this hawk flew into the pop door, inside the coop! where horses and people all over coming and going...I have read about predators we "TALK ABOUT PREDATOR PROOFING"all the time!!!! WE have the coop on a concrete slab so nothing can dig!!! NEVER THOUGHT THE HAWK WOULD GO INTO THE COOP through a pop door I am still just stunned...

My sweet Splenda..we don't even know what she is!!

I'm always ready to pop something else in the incubator. Right now I'm just trying to make sure I have them emptied back out for the NYD hatch. Just don't want them empty too long

Sounds like how my numbers always go. I added a second line of birds to my silver campine. I was looking at the group of chicks yesterday, 7 boys and 1 girl. There's going to be a lot of genetic diversity resting on her shoulders.

I'd help you out Kim, but we're going up tomorrow afternoon, getting the birds cooped in and spending the night. I didn't want to rush Saturday morning, I have 17 birds entered. Although a few only have a few tail feathers between them (feels that way anyway), they may be able to stay home. It all depends on how the bathing goes today. The questionable birds are going last, I may be ready to scratch them by then, LOL
