Way behind again on reading these posts.

Thanks for all the crust recipes! Ron, that item you posted looks very handy. That may work for me.

Waititout, you have *extra* eggs this time of year?! Lucky you! That first chick is so pretty, then more cuteness- then the bad boy of the bunch.

oh and one more photo -- i've been training the chickens to like thistle sprouts/seedlings, as there about a million popping up with the recent rains -- and it's working! i've seen them selectively peck the thistles out of all the various grasses and other sprouts -- but they still prefer to eat them out of my hand, like Eleanor here:

Ahhh, I trained my egg flock to go for dandelion greens before anything. It's their favorite!

Thank you. :) I have plenty of eggs because my girls have only been laying for a few months.

LOL @ the bad boy of the bunch, so true!

i actually hardly have any dandelions to speak of here, but purple thistles are a MENACE -- however, their sprouts come up early & are easy to identify, so now i'm on a chickens-and-i weeding campaign...

The Chicken Tika Masal made with the 20 week old EO Basque Cockerel was delicious!

My Wife said it was so much better that the what you get at the restaurant because it was not dry! Score one for Heritage Dual Purpose chickens!

There was plenty of meat too.
