Pics uploading now! (takes awhile from from my android with no 4G :( )

He posts ads on craigslist here in Redding. If you've ever seen them. They are the 6x10 walk-in coops for $1000. Real nice wood. Stained or un-stained.
Built super sturdy like a house! had him customize them a little for me. He out the human door and nest boxes on the same side and they are 5x7 he charged me $1400 for both.
And they were ready a week early! (double edged sword :/ )

I'll get pics up ASAP!

I would love to have a pair of nice ducks in my ponds. Not to many to compete with caring for my chickens. But I would really like to see my ponds being used by something other than frogs. Lol

Quote: Molly, I see you got the info on the NYD hatch. And yes, I think I was about the third person to sign up, LOL. It was so much fun last year. I think it was my second hatch ever and my incubators haven't shut off since (other than those two pesky weeks I was on vacation).

The other eggs in the incubator right now are my silkie/showgirls, my bantam BR, my icelandics, swapped paint silkies, swapped partridge silkies, swapped RIR, purchased columbian PR, I think that was it. The eggs I got today were more swapped paint silkies. I do have some more Iowa blue eggs coming and some more eggs in the spring from the swaps.

I got my notice today my wood ducks and ringed teals shipped. We're struggling on the mandarins to find a hen.

Oh my gosh my ducks and geese gobble our bull frogs. They loved Spring with all the tadpoles. haha We still have some frogs- they didn't clear them all out but it was a frog haven before and now it's more controlled! Literally. They also like to eat the tiny fish and mosquito eggs they find pockets off. They also weed the pond. That part was nice. Def best to start of with a few rather than a lot. Especially with how many chickens everyone has here. I have more ducks than chickens mostly- or else I might be more overwhelmed than I am.

I hope to be able to eat my ducks at some point but so far we are all 'too chicken' to do it. I am no longer allowing my people to name the females or 'extra' males of any species. Big mistake if you want to eat your animals. lol Lesson #187328723 of caring for lifestock!

I love orpingtons too! I just won my first pair on Partridge Orpingtons from Greenfire Farms the other day on RareBreedAuction.com. im working on my second now

Were you still looking for English buff Orps? There is a lady on the imported English orpington thread who is selling juveniles. I think the eggs came from Marc Sacre. One of the best breeders of English Orps in the United states currently. If your interested, ill get her info for you.
I was temtpted lol

Crap! 2 hens on the nest tonight. One is an Icelandic that just finished raising babies and the other an OE that raised babies this summer. If my new wellie pullet was laying, I'd be happy - but she hasn't started laying yet!
