I found this one:Hello guys and gals when you make the incubator did the wafer thermostat cost around $22.00
Quote: Yes Kim, this is in Paradise and yes, all the way into the house. I haven't talked to them since Sunday but as of Sunday afternoon PGE hadn't been able to get out to turn the power off and there were live wires down so they couldn't go in. This house was hit by a big tree before the kids bought it, then last year a large tree fell on their garage. Besides being to small of a house, they knew it was a matter of time before another tree fell on it. Being in their new house for this storm, my son said it was the first wind storm he's slept through since they lived in that house. When they looked for houses, one criteria was no trees looming over the house. Thank God they'd moved before this. Talk about lucky!

Quote: I will have a lot less when I send some home with PapaBrooder! Those chicks are crazy funny! Also your Showgirl and the two Silkies that I hatched from the eggs Chiquita sent me home with. (ok, did that sentence make any sense? Amy Beth, I am sending 3 Juvenile chicks to you when Jeff picks up his chicks)
What I am working on now is rehoming the older hens. Oh, and I will be working on Chicken Dinner soon too.I have 5 cockerels and yesterday I was checking to see if they are ready yet - getting close!
When the Small Animal Exchange opens up for the new year I will be taking some BAs and BRs there. Maybe a couple of my Dorking Crosses too.
But you still didn't say how many!!!![]()
Quote: We use the 100 gallon water trough as a brooder and it works great.
AmyBeth your pics are awesome! Love all the action/drama shots. Love soap operas, must be why I like to sit and watch the chickens. Also, on the hawks, I think it's important that your chickens have enough places to hide. They most likely won't be able to fly away from a hawk attack. Mine seem to learn after we lose one that they need to hide when they see a large shadow fly overhead.

I have cut metal roofing with tin snips(metal cutters). The instructions for the plastic roofing says to use metal cutters to cut them. You are also supposed to use nails or screws with a rubber seal and use a sealer between sections(It is like silicone).Anyone here ever use the corrugated plastic or metal roofing to cover their coop?
What tool do you use to cut it properly?
