Amy - just be warned..........some on the Marans thread can be a bit unwelcoming. It's a very fast paced thread and sometimes posts get overlooked. As long as you are prepared for it, it's not a big deal.

chiqita - I think we are looking at birds in the same way, just not getting it across to each other so well.

I really like that chest on the boy in the back that you are thinking of keeping. I wonder if you could improve the hackle coloring by mating him to a really dark female?

I miss my turkeys, but they wouldn't EVER go into the coop at night. So frustrating. They were so friendly.

It does. In the standard all Marans thread everyone talks a lot of egg talk right now and other Marans types. I think I need to be in the BCM thread right now. I think it would be helpful. Yes my posts get buried fast. I am hesitant to repeat myself (I don't want to annoy anyone) and I don't want to come across like a whiner- boohoo you guys are ignoring me because I don't feel that way and it just makes people feel awkward. LOL Should I re-post? I am actually not entirely sure what to do in those cases.

You shouldn't hatch eggs for 2 weeks after worming.

Ok from what I have read- combs are pretty low on the points totem pole correct? So work on body type, coloring, shanks, eye color etc and not cull soley because a comb wasn't perfect if some many other things fit...am I getting this right?

My vet said they would do it for me. Do you think they would check properly? Also UCD never ever sent me a bill for ANY part of the necropsy. Not even shipping! is that normal?

I doubt yours are too small because of worms. I doubt that yours are too small. Marans Roos are supposed to be 9 pounds. A pound up or down is acceptable, so yours is almost there and will probably weigh 9# at year old. They keep growing until then. He is only 6 months old?
