I talked to my next door neighbor and the dog belongs to the people who live on the other side of his property. He told me that he noticed a hole in the fence between their 2 yards so the dog went through that hole, crossed my neighbor's large yard and went under the fence into our yard. I blocked up the hole under my fence with several logs and I'm going to have my DH fill it in next weekend. I sure hope that my neighbor takes care of the hole in his fence or that dog is going to be hanging out in their yard. Tomorrow, I'm going to try to catch the dog owner when he gets home from work.

I've checked every hiding place at least 3 times but there is no sign of her. I'm still hoping that she will show up. She is kind of a ditsy girl and hangs out close to the run most of the time. Poor little thing!

sorry about that. keep the chickens cooped up a day or two and put 4 or 5 Rat traps at the hole on your side. He wont come back.

I got some Cream Legbar x Crele Penedesenca eggs from Deann today.
She showed me her first two eggs she got from her cl x cp pullets.. Nice speckled DARK olive eggs.. I tried to talk her into taking them too but nope

LOL! My daughter got out her bow and arrows and was going to go hunting. She couldn't understand why that wouldn't be a good idea.

Thank you for all the support you've extended to us on the loss of Marshmallow. We have some pet chickens, some young chickens for breeding, and then we have a few special chickens that have found a place in our hearts. Marshmallow was one of the special ones.

Yeah. In Eldorado county they have signs everywhere stating" Dogs harming Livestock Can Be Shot "
I wanted to take my erasable pen and put
" Dogs Harming Livestock Can be shot . A person breaks into your house they can be shot"

My wife advised me that a sign like that would not be a good idea lol

Debi- I'm so sorry about Marshmallow. Gary and Betty are MY chickens and I would be heartbroken if I lost them. Drives me crazy that people don't keep their dogs in their yard. I know people have outside dogs- but you still gotta manage them. I'm really sorry.

LOL! We bought a sign for our friend who lives outside of Placerville. It says, "Never Mind the Dog. Beware of Owner!"
