California - Northern

Saw in an earlier post that ChickNmamma blows out her bantam eggs for decorating, figured I'd share what I do with them. They are just to cute to crack.

How creative! I love the carrots!

By all means take your time! If needed, I can go up too on the number.
...

Guess what? I was second place for best NYD Hatch-a-long participant! Deb won the pick the first three to hatch contest, so The Northern CA thread really represented--especially with Chiqita being a host. Gotta love it!

Making the order as early as possible would be best. They sell out quick and get overrun with orders, which is the cause for many of the delays that you hear about. I certainly understand about lack of funds, just wanted to let you know that the longer you wait to make the order, the more you risk not getting the chicks that you want.

Woohoo to you and Deb!

I LOVE getting eggs, I feel like it's a personal thank you from my girls for the happy life they live here at home. I've too been getting the beginning of eggs, mostly because I've brought so many of my breeders home but also because pullets are becoming of age. I am so loving seeing them each day.

It's still very tough to get down the stairs to the chickens each day, but I reserve to do it when the frost has thawed and I have my boots on! (I used to, before getting so sick, run down there at 5:30 am in my bathrobe!!! LOL)

I've been getting a lot of chocolate, brown and white eggs, no blue/green eggs yet but I'm hopeful from Miss Molly's legbars and Papabrooders blue girl!

I really want to get 2-3 blue or spash Isbar pullets/hens if anyone knows of any available.

I have some very pretty boys available. Most are youngsters ranging from 3 to 8 months old, plus one 18 month old.

This is what I have available. You can see pictures of the BBBs, Cochin and Polish on BYCs 8 weeks and older sale page. If someone would like a pair of the BBBs, I would be willing to sell a unrelated pullet along with a rooster.

2 - 3 month old buff x wheaten EE rooster chicks. (hatched from turquoise egg layer x rooster from blue egg)

5 - 7 month old bantam buff Brahma roosters (Darlene Hobb's line) Show winning lines.

1 - 7 month old bantam Porcelain d'Anver rooster (parents from Yates Bantams)

1 - 7 month old bantam buff laced Polish rooster (non hatchery- show lines)

1 - 8 month old bantam buff Brahma rooster (John Neff line) Great quality, show winning lines.

3 - 8 month old bantam Polish roosters (Buff laced x WC Chocolate cuckoo) Elegant!

2 - 8 month old bantam Cochin roosters (Buff Columbian and white) Non hatchery, good quality/type.

1 - 18 month old pure, wheaten Ameraucana rooster (hatched from eggs I bought directly from Pips & Peeps) Great type!

They all sound very nice. I can't have Roosters though.

You can post them here https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/16182/animals-in-need-of-free-re-homing and put a link into your signature. That way people can see them every time you post a reply.

I hope you get to rehome them soon!

I love the digest, too, Ron! We just got back from a vacation to AZ and it was hard to get caught up with this loop! Plus, I really enjoy the spin you put on our discussions!
