I'm glad I'm not the only one who gives chickens interesting names. I nick-named one of my hens "Walter" for a while.... yes, a hen. 

In your signature, there's the part with "This weeks chicks", surely that doesn't mean each week is a new batch of chicks... right? :ep


Yes. I hatch a small or large batch of babies and sell them to the local people who want some. Other times I take them to the feed store. There is also a nice old woman who takes in my birds that don't sell. She thinks they are so beautiful and let's them live out their life on her property.
The chicks I have now are not for sale as they are my first batch of Rheinlanders. The call ducklings are a replacement flock for my adults. It is very hard, but I love either waking up to find hatching Babies or coming home to a bunch of peepers.
