California - Northern

I don't have the money. Not even for the $75 CL cheapo one but I was going to squeezeeeee it out if it were a good deal. Jeff is so kindly hatching some of my EE and bantam BLRW eggs for me. He is SO nice! I am hoping for a broody in the meantime but I want some bantam BLRW before something happens to either one in my pair.
Where are you in No. CA? I just bought a Dickey and would be happy to hatch chicks for you too!!

My friend warned me to air the Dickey out for a while tho, cuz it was likely just painted so I might gas the eggs. I think I will run if for a week before setting any eggs - just to be safe.

Zoo, too bad we don't live closer, we could go in together on a good one!

That's so kind of you. :D I live in Redding. Near Bella Vista/Pale Cedro corner. I feel bad even asking Jeff! I have 7 Orpingtons- all heritage and no broodies yet. NOT complaining because its about that time they all stop laying or something lol. I just assumed someone would feel like being a parent or something. lol

I was thinking about that today. How it would be nice to split and then share. It would be nice to have my own so I am not almost stuck in a bind. I am sure I want to keep going with my little bantam Wyandottes and I don't want something to happen to one of them while I wait for broody. I want at least 1 pair from them...that is the very least I am hoping for. But I need to hatch to get them. lol :D

Anyone ever used vineyard netting for building coops or covering themsomeone in santa rosa area selling a lot of it am i was wondering it its strong enough to keep hawks away from the chickens

I can fix you up once the girls pick-up laying. Which eggs are you interested in? My bantam BLRW, bantam Polish and bantam buff Brahmas are laying like crazy, but the LF BLRWs are only giving me a couple brown eggs every other day, and only one of the EE girls is laying every couple of days.
The ameraucana crosses.
