California - Northern

My Welsummer "George" came after me once. I was working on the water and saw him jump at me through the corner of my eye and reached and grabbed him by the neck. We had a talk, he never did it again.

Been cold here in Siskiyou county.
Welcome chkndaddy, just north of the border from you.
I hear ya on the cold. Pipe had burst in the greenhouse this morning when I went out to feed the chickens in it. Yet another project.

Some picture from the Orpington pen.... Sorry if I'm over posting

Is there any such thing as too many chicken pictures??? Beautiful birds Molly! I'm getting lavendars and creles this spring and chocolate bantams. I'm really looking forward to them! They'll be my first orps, other than my feedstore buff.

I guess I can quit worrying about the first one to pip now.

It blurry as all get out. The first babies I've ever hatched without a broody.

Welcome ladies - hope hope hope!
Congratulations!!!

Does anyone have a small bantam pullet or hen for sale? I'm teaching a showmanship class, and would like to have another young bird.

I will look at your pictures!

Ummmm, I don't think I have any photos of them online. Tomorrow we're continuing the worming and that is the bank of coops we'll be working on (only 12 more pens to go, whew). I'm supposed to be getting some pictures of seramas, so I'll try to take some of the the silver campines too.

Here's an old picture of one, before he matured and his markings cleaned up.

I have a bunch of bantam pullets available - lots of different breeds/mixes. Perfect for showmanship - pm me and we can work something out!

Cheryl- I hope your hen gets better. :( I could only think of egg bound when you described it.

Betty is officially broody. When we opened the coop doors this morning she was in the lay box. When I passed out treats this afternoon she remained in the lay box. When I checked under her butt for eggs she stayed in the lay box (growling). Tonight it was pitch dark and all the chickens were roosting Betty was STILL in the lay box. Yay! She has 4-5 eggs under her now. Do they take care of themselves? Like potty, eat and drink? Should I ever freshen up her bedding? I'm so excited - my first broody hatch!

Thank You!

Do you sell hatching eggs from them?

I kind of owe a dozen to Whisher1000.
