He was a sweet talker................and now he won't have to share the girls with his brother!

I just looked up Isbars earlier today. Umm...how yum are those eggs? Stunning!

They are and I can't wait to get some. The girls are now 7-8 mos old and still nothing. That and my Cream Legbars (gorgeous blue eggs). At least I got them split into two pens about a week ago. I've seen the boys mounting the girls, so I should be close. And by the time they get past the first few eggs, they'll be ready to hatch!!!!!

I can barely wait!

The middle tiny one? Warm out of a nest the LHs jumped out of. Our only bantam Wyandotte also hopped off a nest holding a tiny beige-y one. She didn't lay 2 eggs in a day. Altho oddly the LH egg looks not very white in the image. The 2 on either side of the middle white are both from our lone bantam wyandotte. The big egg is from one of my Pekin ducks a d the the tan one is an Orpington egg.

Beautiful Eggs Amy Beth! Yummy!

I had 15 go a couple of weeks ago, one today (big handsome GNH gets a backyard flock of his own), 15 more going on Friday and 2 more getting picked up at the show this weekend. It is going to be MUCH quieter around here and the food bill will go down. About ten days from now (first I have time) about 7 turkeys are heading to freezer camp. Then the food bill will drop like a rock! Deb
It does feel good to look out in the yard and see more Hens then Roosters.... Just say'in !

Hi all!

I've been lurking for quite awhile now, mainly because I unfortunately do not have chickens...yet. There is now a timeline for my chicken adventure. I will be getting chicks in early April!

Not a lot, just 6 since I live in a residential neighborhood and won't be able to provide a large area for them to roam around in. I posted on this thread back around the time of the Heirloom Expo, which I went to and really enjoyed. I'm looking forward to going to the show in Stockton this Saturday, sounds like it's going to be pretty awesome :) I am super excited to own chickens and can't wait for April! Actually I can, because I still need to build a coop, haha. I've really been enjoying reading all the great information on this site and I'm hoping I'm going to be as prepared as I can be for the arrival of my chicks. Hope everyone is doing well :)
