Do you need chicks, pullets or ladies already a layin'?
(i dont have any to give but thought it would help others to clarify)

I know Jeff here in Redding sells some pullets- various breeds. Not sure what he has available. Where are you?

I'm in Grass Valley. Redding is a little far from me, but I'm looking for ladies layin'! I have 2 ladies, but only one is laying. I'm only getting 1 egg/day. I'm incubating 10 & have 5 Silkie chicks.

Hello all, lost and confused on the Wazine-17 instructions.
I pulled the waterers late this evening and have the small waterers I usually use inside the coops all washed and ready for the morning.
One coop has 17 lf rocks, how do you measure out for 17 birds? Other coop has 30 lf and 4 bantams. Then it gets even more confusing with other coops and pens.
If I'm reading instructions correctly I should be putting water in each coop based on number of birds and all water should be consumed.
Any recommendations?

I found this. It does not say what you posted above.

Look for dawg53 and his instructions. If you still have questions, maybe send him a pm.

WORMING YOUR CHICKENS - FROM THE GOSPEL of JAMES (Chapter dawg53 1-2-3)
*****
1. Wazine17 - two ounces in two gallons of water for one day - dump eggs for two weeks
*****
...Ten days later:
2. Valbazen -one half cc/ml for standard size chickens, one quarter cc/ml for smaller chickens including silkies. You can use a syringe to squirt it down their throats individually or you can inject it into a small piece of bread and give each chicken a piece of bread....they gobble it up. - dump the eggs for two weeks
*****
3. ...after a couple of days of using both wormers....give your chickens plain yogurt or buttermilk(probiotics), canned beef catfood (extra protein), all mixed in their feed and give it to them to build up their immune systems, do this about 3 days in a row. Then you'll have healthy, happy chickens lol.
The next time you worm, say in about 6 months or whenever you see fit...you can use the valbazen first, no need to use the wazine unless you want to. Please PM anytime and I'll be happy to help you with worming. Jim.

Thanks Ron. The instructions made it sound like I should divide up the water per # of birds rather than just dose water and they will drink there fill. Much easier, it was easier yet when they didn't have worms. Explains why they were going through more feed.

Yes!

I bet they will start looking better too. Did they get poopy butts?

Sorry you have to dump the eggs.

Thank You!

They are a breed from a project at the University of Arkansas by Dr. Bramwells friend. Until recently, they were available for local pickup mostly for 4-H projects.

Jim is a good guy. Very knowledgable and loves this breed. I spoke to him for a hour and a half on them. with my poor cell connection and all.

A friend of mine sent this photo, and I wanted to share it with you. I think it is so cute to see babies with a rooster. I wonder what breed he is?
You know what he is saying. Man no one better see me like this.
Yup. There will be a thread soon asking for volunteer helpers for contests, prizes, etc.
awsome can not wait to see it.
I hope so!

Kim is building rooster pens and I need to make arrangements...
I want to try my hand at some hens. Jim said he would add me to the list but if I dont have to ship them.

Saw a couple with some messy butts, but it was more the amount of feed they were going through. They just started to eat more than before.

I've got eggs saved up from the past weeks so I won't have to buy grocery store eggs.

Feeling really blue today........today it has been 6 months since my husband passed away, oh why does life have to suck so bad?

Awe sweetie, I thought about you over the holidays and since. My heart goes out to you and I pray for your strength. My brother died from cancer 4 years ago. He left an 8, 16 and 21 year old. So hard to leave babies behind but just as hard to leave any of us. I use my brothers strength to get me through when I think I can't.
