I had the same problems seeing through my brown eggs. The "blob" eggs I watched for quite awhile and saw movement. I moved the flashlight around the egg until I found the light spot. I think the light spot was probably the yolk sack but since it was lighter I could see the movement in the egg. What I would see most times was similar to a heartbeat or a breathing motion. I left the blobs in, they had developed fine but I think it was humidity issues that prevented hatching.

Hello everybody,
... I still have my SIlver Gray Dorking pair that I will sale.

Karen, it's so good to hear from you! I'm sorry to have missed you at the show. You should post about your sale Dorks on the Dorking thread. There are always some newbies looking for some.

Congratulations! I drove to Santa Rosa today and picked up a Bresse trio!!!

You, too? Wow, where are they all coming from? Good luck to all of you! I'll be following your adventures.

whew! Got a new job a couple of weeks ago, & it's really making it hard to keep up with you guys!

I hope that you like your new job!

here we go, its long

Finally it all depends on what you wish to do with your chicken.

This is an attempt at a classification which may serve as a
(modifiable) basis for French chickens.

Thanks for all that! I'm very curious about the flavor of American raised Bresse.

Thanks. I am reservedly excited. Betty gets off her nest like 2 times a day to forage, eat, drink and even mate with her fav roo. LOL But she comes back to it faithfully. I am trying to trust her. No eggs have exploded yet and for that I am most grateful.

It looks like a frizzled Silkie (AKA: Sizzle). So cute!
I had someone take me to task about the whole frizzle sizzle thing. I am still confused by it because not everyone seems to be on the same page about it all.

I was told a sizzle is a silkie mix with soft loose feathers that lay flat. That a frizzle was a silkie mix with feathers that curl upwards. What is correct?

like a frizzle is a frizzle and has nothing to do with a silkie right?

but a sizzle is the frizzle on a silkie? and the feathers may or may not be curled up?

i have a silkie mix rooster. smokey gray, soft feathers that lay flat, 5 toes. he has the black skin and covered in feathers from head to toe. i called him a sizzle. and she said i was incorrect. i really don't know what to call him! lol

I just put 4 eggs from my LF BLRWs, 6 eggs from my bantam BLRWs and 4 eggs from my EEs (pure wheaten x pure buff Ameraucanas) into lockdown. The chicks from the EE eggs are up for grabs. I might be convinced to sell the LF BLRW chicks (Foley x Greg Catt lines) if someone really wants them

I am trying to build up my bantam BLRW flock, so the bantam chicks are not available at this time.
